Dr. Rosen: “The community owes Ahavas Chesed a debt of gratitude”

There is no one in Crown Heights that doesn’t know Dr. Eli Rosen. The neighborhood’s physician that had the privilege to take care of the Rebbe, in a surprising open letter:

Dear Friends,

I have been a family doctor in our community for over 30 years. In this role I have been honored to attend to the needs of many of the families residing in Crown Heights. I also serve as coordinator of the Crown Heights Hatzalah. Throughout the years, I have worked closely with Rabbi Avraham Lider and Ahavas Chesed organization. Rabbi Lider’s extraordinary service to the community is well-known. Rabbi Lider and Ahavas Chesed are always there for you, always helping people at every turn, and they are available 24/7 to receive your phone calls on their emergency hotline. Rabbi Lider’s dedication is literally around the clock.

Whenever there is a medical crisis Rabbi Lider and Ahavas Chesed spring into action. Their services are an essential part of relieving the stress and suffering of ill patients every day in our community. They help secure proper medical treatment, regardless of a patient’s ability to pay. Through their network of volunteers, they escort patients to doctors’ appointments, provide medical transportation, and provide kosher meals. Additionally, they sponsor a well-attended blood drive every month in Crown Heights.

My own family has personally benefited from Rabbi Lider and Ahavas Chesed’s great work. They recently acquired a new ambulette to transport patients with mobility challenges and I have had the use of this service.

The community owes Rabbi Lider and Ahavas Chesed a debt of gratitude.

May you go from strength to strength in all your efforts!
